Another King Prawns Defeated..!

This afternoon we went for another king prawn fishing also at the Belait river...though our catch is far less than before but this time we managed to catch the largest king prawn that we ever catch before...!

Osman opening his account with this large king prawn...

This is our record catch...a 300g king prawn!

The king prawn stretches almost 2ft in length....!

Look at those long claws...are they called claws or pincers?? ok whatever...this large king prawn gave a tremendous fight and we were surprised when it finally landed inside the boat that it was actually only get hooked on one of those small legs...what a luck!

Which one is bigger the one on the left or the one on the right..?

Syazni's king prawn on the right...Osman's king prawn on the left...or the other way round???

Hello Kaki and friends,
I wish I was there! Those prawn are incredible! We have no fresh water equivalent, our crayfish seldom get longer than 5" and so it takes many to make a meal even though they are easy to catch by hand or trap.
I can only imagine what fighting a prawn is like, especially a 2ft. one! My hat is off to Osman, he has made a good catch!

Mkz,
Yes those prawns are really incredible..actually we also seldom saw that kind of size!
Actually the way the prawn bite the bait and the way they fight is way too different from that of a fish..it has its on thrill!

Interesting article you have there. Wonder if you can share some tips on how to get started on prawning...
